Microsoft Vista - The Ugly Monster In Disguise

04.08.2007

As Microsoft continues to push and force their new operating system onto the world, consumers are finding themselves faced with having to purchase new expensive devices and software that are compliant with the new Vista operating system. Before you make the decision to run out and spend hundreds of dollars on Vista, do a search on the web to find out if everything you plan on using is compatable with this over inflated, resource hog of a operating system. Note most Computers being used by consumers will not run Vista and will force you to either purchase new computers or spend hundreds of additional dollars to upgrade memory, hard drives, video and audio cards, external drives etc... in order to run it.

Panhandle Linux recommends NOT upgrading to this Operating System for at least another year and a half to ensure the Microsoft Vista developers have made this operating system compliant with ALL software and hardware currently in use today. If you are using MS Windows XP, then stay with it, don't be in a hurry to upgrade. If you are really interested in a powerful system to upgrade to then consider Linux or Apple. These two are highly stable and user friendly operating systems, even more so than any Microsoft operating sytem in existance.

Microsoft Vista looks pretty on the outside, but it is actually an ugly monster in disguise that is bent on seperating you from your hard earned money and in most cases, your sanity. If Microsoft wants the world to use their software then make them pay for the expensive upgrades consumers will have to endure. I'm positive they can afford it.

Cox Communications Sell Out to SuddenLink Sends Customer Service and Integrity Straight Down The Toilet.

04.08.2007 | by cc

Ever since Cox Communications sold out to SuddenLink, customers have become the victims of the worst customer service and support imaginable. Suddenlink, has always had a long reputation as having some of the worst service and customer relations imaginable. They don't seem to be concerned with this what-so-ever. Their lack of communication with their customers, cancelling work orders without notification, refusal by their phone support personnel to return calls, refusal to escalate calls to supervisors and supervisors who refuse to listen to the concerns of customers and remedy problems, phone support persons who blatently argue and critise customers who have legitamate concers, has only increased the frustrations of PAYING customers.

Cox prided themselves on working with their customers to ensure the best possible service, but the arrogance of Suddenlink has flushed all these qualities down the toilet. Many clients have called P.L. to discuss alternatives to cable internet and phone service. To which we encourage them to look into local DSL providers and move away from expensive cable internet and phone.

If you are frustrated with Suddenlinks expensive and horrible service, open your phone directory and consider moving over to high speed internet from a local provider. Great internet providers to consider, in the Panhandle of Texas Areas, Clear WIre, AMATechtel and NTS-Online. If none of these are available, consider SBC DSL only as a last resort because of their outsourcing of tech support to India and other non-english speaking countries, and terrible customer service. We strongly advise against any dialups (unless high speed internet is not available in your area) and do not under any circumstances recomment AOL, because of there constant email spamming, excessive pornography and spyware/virus activities, this is becoming less of a problem since AOL has begun to slowly get out of the ISP business.
